Why Music Is Made For Salsa Dancing

Dancing is an expressive, elegant movement, performed to the rhythm of the music played. It is the movement of human body and dancing is a great form of exercise on one hand, and on the other hand, a dancing profession is a very remunerative profession, where you can earn a considerably good income.

Learning dancing is not as easy as you think. You should take the initiative to find a good dance school, and you should be very flexible to move to body according to the rhythm.  You should also be graceful, expressive, have co-ordination and the ability to understand the music. Physically you should be fit and healthy. Your neck and shoulders should be mobile and flexible; Your spine should not be stiff and it should be capable of full movement; Hamstrings should be lose; Calf muscles, Achilles, feet and ankles should be flexible and toes should not be curled, but straight.

In an ideal world, dancing should be learned from a very young age.  The normal route to learn dancing is by attending a dance school, where you will be taught the steps of dancing by a dance instructor. Children should be given the opportunity to learn dancing because they learn the skill of dancing quicker and dancing also increase their self-confidence and general good condition. In fact it is a great way to prevent child obesity. Dancing has the power to bind people together.

There are various types of dances. Some of them are: Ballet, where the dancers tell stories through dancing; Jazz dancing where the dancers mix different styles of dancing by using bold steps; Tap dancing where the dancers create rhythm using their feet; Hip-hop dance, where the dancers with various moves such as popping, locking, breaking and krumping; Swing dancing where the couples dance by swinging; Contra dance, where the dancers perform a sequence of dance movements by forming two parallel lines; Western dancing, where the dancers dance to the Western music; Modern dance which was developed in the 20th century is a free-flowing dance.

Another dance which is popular world wide is the Salsa dance.  Salsa dancing is a partner dance and a popular dance of Latin America and United states, with origin from Cuba. This dance does not require much movement on the floor and the Salsa dance consists of eight beats. The dancers move for three beats, pause for one beat, where the movement is the left-right-left pause. If the dancers start with this movement the style is on one. The dancers then moves again for three beats and pause for one beat, where the movement is right-left-right pause. If the dancers start with this movement, then the style is on two. Easy isn’t it? Well it is not quite easy because the tempo is very high. The Salsa dance is associated with Salsa music. The Salsa music is played in two bars, with four beats to a bar and the eight beats are played on a tall drum called Congo and the Salsa beat is defined by a instrument called clave, which are two wooden sticks hit together in 2-3 or 3-2 pattern.

Line dancing is also popular.  As the name implies, people dance in lines. In line dancing, the dancers execute the same moves, but they don’t touch each other. Dancing is fun and healthy, and if you have the passion for dancing, you can take it up as a profession
