A remote pocket of rainforest in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwest of Uganda is home to 50 percent of the world’s populace associated with endangered mountain gorillas. The Bwindi Park has become the most famous place for gorilla safaris within Uganda and has been proclaimed a World Heritage Site. This specific park comprises of about 200 square miles of dense rainforest along with thick jungle vegetation – a great habitat to the mountain gorillas.

 Another park that provides great opportunities for Uganda gorilla safaris is the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. This park can be found within the extreme south west corner of Uganda around the slopes belonging to the Virunga Mountains which also border Rwanda and also the Democratic Republic of Congo.

 Irrespective of which park you go to, gorilla trekking within Uganda gives you a fabulous once in a lifetime experience. The thrill of trekking in the dense foliage as you track the Uganda gorillas is one not soon to be forgotten. In your forest trails; it’s also possible to come across some of the different natural inhabitants of the region, which includes diverse bird species, chimpanzees, golden monkeys, bush buck, duiker and perhaps even leopard.
