Bosh have been manufacturing washing machines for over 100 years. They have become known for producing great quality machines in the higher end price bracket . Bosh are a German based company, although these days they are global manufacturers.

In the past anyone who owned a Bosh washing machine could honestly say they owned a quality appliance, but they would have paid a premium price to own one back then .

The bottom line for   manufacturing companies is to make a profit, that’s the sole reason for them being in business. There is always a balance over the cost to produce , the reliability of the appliance and the profit to be made.

Anyone can make a perfect washing machine that will never break down, but it will cost a lot of money to produce and manufacturess know that when they have to charge a price that includes a good profit for them, the machine will be too expensive for most people and they will sell very few of them.

A balance has to be reached between the cost of producing the machine and the price consumers will pay for it. Too expensive will mean very few sales and too cheap can mean poorly made, unreliable and very soon they will get a name for making cheap, machines which are unreliable .

I have watched Bosh go from one of the top five washing machine producers in the world, to being one of the just average and back into the top 5 again.

This happens to all companies sooner or later . It is sometimes caused by simply a cut in the quality and materials they use as a way to cut costs and earn greater profits. Sometimes it is caused by them trying out new manufacturing processes and sometimes they are simply trying to push the boundaries of technology too far.

In recent times Bosh have suffered all of these problems and more. five years ago, the owners of Bosh washing machines were finding more problems and faults than normal . They went through a period of trying to sell machines based on the strength of the brand name of Bosh , without backing it up with the quality expected from them.

I am happy to say, it looks like Bosh have sorted all their problems and whilst they don’t have the absolute best washing machine in the world. They do these days produce a very very good one indeed.
