I’ve started to notice something quite interesting in the people search industry.
The popular website Whitepages.com that is known well in the people tracking industry, officially went eco all the way.
Upon further investigation, I’ve discovered they went green on July 2010 by doing the following things:
They brought compost bins
They got separate bins for the plastic bags. So plastic bags in one bin, all other things in another bin.
They bought paper towels suitable for recycling.
I congratulate WhitePages for this act .
Caring for the environment should be one of the top priorities of every people search company, not just WhitePages.
Some smaller sites like FinderMind have also started taking some initiative .
Darren, the creator of Findermind, moved the file hosting to a environment friendly company and started to segregate waste for recycling
We now hang the flag of earth and proclaim environment protection call, going forward as we still look for other companies to accept the challenge and take their business to the greener level
Here are some tips for web companies if they plan to go green in the near future:
You can join Earth Day movement and participate in eco-actions that are connected to celebration of the Earth Day .
According to many green activists, Earth Day is the most important day for the green movement .
Convince your company to join this movement!
Consider getting hybrid cars for transportation .
This may not apply to you if you’re a small company. If you’re a big, multinational corporation, however, getting hybrid cars can potentially bring you a lot of publicity and make your company popular among the green movement.
Colours have effect on people, so add more green, eco-friendly furniture to your office – it will bring in the peaceful atmosphere and a environmental message.
Consult yourself with an expert. Hire an expert to propose some replacements to your office material. You can get many green replacements for some of the material you have in your office.
Don’t stay behind the crowd. Move with us toward the green!
